A morning spent in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, ancient village which sits at the foot of the great ‘Red Rock’ towering above it. Alleyways and narrow cobbled streets open onto a main square with Chapel and fountain and currently an open-air exhibition of a French literary giant, Albert Camus. The old buildings are adorned with colourful bunting in celebration, and large b/w posters of Camus with quotes from his works are mounted like literary sign-posts around the village.
