Cloisters & Cathedrals – both are to be found in the ancient Roman town of Fréjus, where the cloister’s hand-painted wooden decorative tiles have been lovingly restored and are the oldest to be found in France. The Cathedral too has undergone several periods of restoration and boasts several alters, stained glass windows and huge oil paintings throughout the interior. I light a candle for those who are gone, and say a prayer as a Mass chant fills the space with peace, offering time to sit quietly and remember them.
